Wooden Floors UK had previous experience with WordPress & WooCommerce and quickly realised that this platform would not be capable of fulfilling their needs. We rebuilt a new store on the Magento platform and migrated all the customer, product and sales data over to the new Magento site.

Sample order feature
We were tasked with finding a good plugin that offered a “free sample” product option that the customer could order without paying for. Unfortunately there were no quality plugins on the market so we developed our own solution that uses the parent product without the need to add additional products to the admin panel. Just tick a the “add free sample” box in the admin panel to offer any specific product as a free sample.

Custom price calculator
We had to create functionality whereby the user could enter in the area of flooring they needed and the website would calculate how many packs of wood was required to fulfill this value. This also meant that we need to create fuinctionality in the admin panel for admin to be able to add in the pack size in m2 for each different style or brand of wood flooring they are selling. This calculation and styling happens in real time as the user enters in their area of their floor.
Up-selling accessories
We have developed a popup that appears after the user adds specific products to their cart. Not only that but the admin can specify which products this popup shows up on and which individual products are linked. This allows fully customised and tailored up-sells per product based on the buying history and habits of their clients.

Product tags
The request was to be able to select up to 3 tags to each product to give a quick burst of additional info to the user. These tags can be simple toggled on/off in the admin panel and will automatically show up on the front-end of the site.
